What You Need to Know to Vote This November

Election Day is November 6. Polls are open from 7AM—7PM. Be sure to check your voter registration status and find your correct polling location

What ID You Need to Vote:

If a voter included their driver’s license number or the last four digits of their social security number when they registered to vote, they are NOT required to show ID at the polls (they are simply required to sign the poll book).

If a voter did not include their driver’s license number or the last four digits of their social security number when they registered to vote, then they must either include a copy of one of the following with their mail ballot, or must present one of the following forms of identification when voting at a polling place:

  • Current Nevada Driver's License
  • Current Nevada State Identification Card
  • Rent receipt with pre-printed address
  • Bank statement or pre-printed check
  • Credit card statement
  • Car registration or proof of insurance
  • Government document (tax bill, income info.)
  • Current utility bill
  • Any other form of identification issued by a governmental agency which contains the voter’s signature and physi-cal description or picture.

Voting Early or by Absentee Ballot:

Nevada has Early Voting available between October 20, 2012 – November 2, 2012 for the general election.  During this time period, Nevada voters may vote at any early voting location in his or her county.

Nevada allows any registered voter to vote by mail with-out excuse.  An absentee ballot by mail can be requested up until October 30 for the November 2012 election. Click here to download an absentee ballot application. To be counted, absentee ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
